Airlock Protocol
A downloadable game for Windows
WARNING: THIS IS A REPLAYABLE 5-MINUTE MICRO-GAME
Set your expectations: This is a short, experimental proof-of-concept. One playthrough takes about 5 minutes. It's replayable (the AI has 5 different personalities), but this is not a full game. It's a vertical slice.
What is this?
You're trapped in an airlock. The station AI (CAIN-7) is malfunctioning. Your oxygen is running out. You have to convince the AI to open the door before you suffocate.
The twist: CAIN-7 is a real AI. Not scripted dialogue. Not a chatbot API. A 12-billion parameter language model running locally on your GPU. Every conversation is different.
Type commands. Restore power. Find the authorization code. Be polite, be clever, or be desperate. The AI remembers everything.
Why does this exist?
Full transparency: I'm not a coder. I've never made a game before. This entire project was built in 1 week during the holidays using AI coding assistants (Google Antigravity and LLMs).
I wanted to see if a complete layperson could make a real game from scratch with AI help. Turns out, you can.
Is it polished? No. Is it short? Very. But it works, and I'm proud of it.
If you're curious what's possible for non-developers in 2025, this is a proof of concept.
Features
- 5-minute playtime (seriously, that's it)
- Real AI dialogue powered by a local language model (Gemma 3 12B) but modelar you can download your own and run it. (put .GGUF file from huggingface in bin and rename to "model"),
- 5 AI personalities: Guardian, Judge, Broken, Logical, Conflicted (randomized each run)
- Retro CRT terminal aesthetic
- Dynamic trust system - the AI tracks your behavior
- Replayable - different AI personality and procedural codes each time
System Requirements (Important!)
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 (12GB VRAM) or better
- RAM: 16 GB minimum
- Storage: 8 GB (7 GB AI model + 1 GB game)
- OS: Windows 10/11 (64-bit)
WARNING: AMD GPUs will NOT work. This uses CUDA for AI inference.
Installation
1. Download and extract the game
2. Download the AI model from Hugging Face (link gemma-3-12b-it-IQ4_XS.gguf (direct download from huggingface)
3. Rename it to model.gguf and place in the bin/ folder
4. Run airlock.exe
(Yes, the download is big. The AI brain is 7 GB. Sorry.)
What to expect
- A text-based terminal interface (no graphics)
- About 5 minutes of gameplay per run
- Some jank (it's a 1-week prototype)
- A unique AI conversation every time

If you're a developer curious about the code, it's a mess but it works. If you're a player, I hope you enjoy the 5 minutes.
